If I heat the whole lead weight at once with my torch, will it stay hot long enough to sprinke it with the powder? How did you do it?
Thanks
GregScrew it. Let's ride.

I would be very careful to use a torch.....I applied it with a heat gun....well used the gun to heat the lead so the paint melted and stuck to it....then it needs a constant heat 350degrees for 20+ minutes to set the powder real good or cure it ....that is the secret to the powder paint so I read and have seen .....this is all new to me.....but a torch ......I would not use myself!!....that is what I will help melt the lead with....and just a little propane benzo matic one .......that you would use to do plumbing with
I found a almost new heat gun at a pawn shop for cheap.....and also use that for the butterfly jigs before I bake those in a little toaster oven to cure the paint(got at a thrift store for 6.00).....you could use the oven to heat the lead to apply the paint too....and a good welding glove to handle it till it gets all painted
be real careful....I like the heat gun, and just get it hot enough not to melt the paint on the brush...... but that has happened a few times too.Bill..............

Just put that sucka in the microwave, it won’t take near as long to cook it! :banana:Life is like toilet paper; you’re either on a roll or taking crap from some a$$hole!

Re: king gaffs for sale
Dont know about the microwave, but did think about putting it in the oven to get hot all at once. I don't know - got mess written all over it.
Screw it. Let's ride.

Re: king gaffs for sale
I would put a paper plate under it as I applied the paint to catch any that falls off....It's not messy with the heat gun....and supposedly no fumes or smell in the oven....that's what the net said anyway.... :3some:
I like them painted, don't have to worry about any residue on your hands from the lead in case you eat something after handling it, and they rinse off easy too with the paint on.....I only did a few, with paint.....and no more...... unless I find a ele. oven along the curb to use....I took one to my brother-in-laws that worked good.....free....they were in need and asked if I would look at the garage sales.... and as fate would have it, while driving the garage sales found the one at the curb....said works good and freeBill..............
