    ....you may be able to get one there, or a way better prize then the gaff.....unless some one wants to buy it outright and that money then could be donated to the fund for his parents ....that would be up to Lisa Lindy whether that would be acceptable ....I have donated it and out of the what happens to or with it

    Fin, how many feet from pier to water and more important, how deep is the water at the Octi? I need to know how long the rope needs to be.

    I don't remember the exact height of the pier and water depth has absolutely no bearing on how long your rope should be. To answer the pertinent question, you can get by with 30 feet but 35 is better. If you plan to fish Pensacola or Navarre stretch it out to 40.

    Lucky, the water depth is 30'ish feet, so 35' will cover you if it gets away, don't forget a float or it won't matter.
    Don't know the depth of the FL piers.

    Florida's are mostly 30 to the water as DRH said 40ft. would cover most any of them, except the sky way bridge in Tampa
