You nailed it chillin. The cart used to sit out front on display at the building on the left. I did here they don't handle them anymore but don't know if it is true or not. Last week when I went past there the display cart was gone.

Was wondering if the people from out of state that only come down for a short trip would be interested in renting a cart if they were available ? Would be interested as to what everyone thinks about seeing if the pier would get some rental carts. What is a reasonable price people would be willing to pay for a days rental ?

That could be a good deal for the pier and those needing one if the price was right.

The cart rental idea came up a few years ago and then when J&M offered up a great rental deal; no takers. Below is John's 2013 post about ending the offer.
Here is a link to that thread:

I remember the Pensacola pier renting out carts, twelve or fifteen years ago. The cost wasn't much, somewhere between the cost of beer at the shack and an adult fishing pass. The carts weren't in great shape, due to the obvious of renting as well as sitting around empty on the pier deck most of the time. An investment in a cart rental business doesn't seem to be profitable to me.

I found them online and they still sell the carts and accessories. About the same prices as J&M on the large cart last time I checked. They may be higher now. The large cart with the wheel eze tires was $420.00. After cleaning out my drawers I decided against buying one.

I bought my cart from J & M and then bought the Wheel Eze tires and axle from those folks, pricey but worth it if you fish from the beach.

I was up that way yesterday and they still had the two carts on the rack by the highway as usual.
I looked there before I bought mine at J & M. The carts at J & M had bigger tires and more rod holders for the same price.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
