Nice to know I'm not the only cast right-hold left-reel right fisher.

All my early years of catching were with spincaster and baitcaster reels which had/have right side handles and I am right handed. I used to get a lot of grief about my spinning reels having the handles moved to the right side. I tried switching to reeling left handed for a while to see what I was missing. It didn't take long figure-out that this old dog had no interest in this "new trick". I always have and always will reel right handed.
I still think the upside down spinning reel is Politically Incorrect use of equipment.

Due to a misspent youth, adullthood and old age, I can cast with either hand, reel with either hand and even use a fly rod with either hand. Now, if I can figure out how to make some money from this ability......
Can't wait for May Fool's day.

Mr. Hay, You are such a remarkable man, I'm going to make a special trip down there just to shake your hand and to meet you. Maybe you will even give me your autograph. Being able to fly cast left handed would be so helpful while fishing these small streams. I wouldn't spend nearly as much time in the "penalty box". YOU ARE THE GREATEST!!!!

I can also wiggle one ear and pat my stomach and rub my head at the same time---none of it ever done me a dam bit of good.
Now, when it comes to that doggone mouse, he can be unpredictable and vicious.

I share responsibilities with setting the hook and fighting a fish with a lefty when I am right handed. I don't mind this arrangement and can use the spinning reel either way, but, upside down, then reeling backwards is just not correct. The rod/reel combination is unbalanced and having to reel backwards is awkward. If your a lefty, switch the handle and reel correctly. Not backward!

I found a service center that gets my parts for me. Thanks for the update.
You would think I would know this!
