Retired from law enforcement after 30 years. I've been visiting the GS/OB area for 40 years and have seen an enormous amount of changes. From the Gulf Shores motel, Souvenir City and Youngs By The Sea, with the old pier and a few scattered beach cottages to what it is today. I remember several of the regulars, a lot of which are gone now. I think the old pier was good even when opal took off the end, but the new pier is awesome. I also believe the fishing has improved. Stayed every year for month of March, but next year it will be April too to be assured to get in on the Kings and Cobes. I've made So many friends that I always feel welcome! Thanks guys (and girls).
I now live in Foley, al., so the trip to the pier is a thousand miles shorter!
