My local friend/business owner needs help

I have been fishing with all of you on the new AND old pier for many years. I rarely post, but I am a dedicated fisherman and follower of this forum. I am reaching out to all of you. I am writing to you all tonight because I have a close friend here locally that really needs your help. His name is Larry Basil, and he owns a store (Too Hot Mamas) right next to mine (The Treasure Chest) at SanRoc Cay Marina. He has been diagnosed with a VERY rare and aggressive form of leukemia called T-PLL, and he doesn't have a match for a bone marrow transplant. My wife is hosting a Bone Marrow Match Drive this weekend on Sunday from 12:30-5:00 at Pelican Place in Gulf Shores on 59 (where Target and the movie theater is located) to try and find him a transplant match, and I am asking all of you to please consider coming out. To see if you are a match, it is a simple cheek swab, no blood is drawn. The ages accepted for the cheek swab test are 18-44. But I am asking all of you to come out and support this, regardless of whether you can do the swab test or not...he is a great guy on borrowed time, and he has done alot for this community over the years. There will be a huge silent auction with some serious donations to bid on, and there will be hamburger/hot dogs/conecuh sausage plates being cooked and sold on site - money will be applied to the costs incurred by BETHEMATCH, the national organization that will be set up doing the swab tests for the bone marrow registry (swab tests are free to anyone who wants to apply to be a match for Larry). We REALLY need folks to come out for the swab tests!!! But we need everyone else too. There will also be a live music set up that includes Lisa Dotolo, JJ Mac, Chris Newbury, Marty McIntosh, and Kevin Newell. And if the rain stays away, there will be a bouncy house for the kids. Most importantly, if you can't stop by, will you please keep him in your prayers, because he needs them.
    Thank you,
    ~ Hank Anderson

Please remember if you get a chance to stop by Pinnacle/Pelican Place (in front of Books A Million and beside the Apple store) today and see if you are a Bone Marrow match for Larry Basil. It will not take long and maybe you will be a hero.
