The Gulf Shores Pier Fishing Forum - A Unique Place!
I think that the great things about this forum and the people who contribute to it deserve its own thread-topic. What I like is the exchange of ideas and experiences when it comes to pier and surf fishing. New fisherman can search and gain valuable knowledge from decades of experience, regarding what to do to be successful and what not to do. There are TIMELY reports, and more importantly, HONEST reports of what's happening.
This site does it right, by focusing on the love of the outdoors in general and the Gulf Coast fishing experience in particular. Central to all of this are lovely people, helpful and kind, giving and considerate. I've made friends through this site. In this life, nothing is more valuable.
So to everyone who contributes ideas, reports, support, tips/technniques, and the shared love of the Gulf Coast fishing experience on this site, thank you! Your contributions are much appreciated!
Feel free to add your thoughts about this unique forum.

I must agree, that this Forum is a unique resource for me, personally, because of all the knowledge I have gained from being a member. And, I look forward to continuing to learn from men and women who know what they are talking about.

I am 55 but have just fished in saltwater for the last 5 years and only 2 to 4 weeks a year. I can say say my personal knowledge has increased 100 fold in the last year since I joined the forum. All the things I have learned both great and small in that year would have taken me years to learn on my own. Not many days go by that I don't look at the forum several times. It has become a part of my daily life. I enjoy seeing and hearing about what's going on even if I can't be there. Thanks to all who take the time to share their knowledge and passion for fishing on the salt.

Speaking for myself and I suspect may others, who, for the present time at least ”fish vicariously” through all of you who take the time from fishing to share your knowledge and experience (and some rib tickling humor) here, THANKS! 10 or 15 minutes each morning and evening spent here is far more beneficial than anything you get from watching the morning and evening news!

I also read very regularly from 9 hours away. I do miss hearing from some of the regulars who used to post reports and pictures...but sure appreciate those who keep it up. As forums go, this one is ancient. It's life blood is regular and informative posts.

As I have stated many times before there is nothing that can compare to this forum I can't wait to read it and I live here I have caught many many pier and surf fish of all kinds over the years and I honestly believe that I have more fun now helping and seeing someone else catch them than I do catching them myself
Some of you know I clean, lube and repair rods and reels. My quandary is that Shimano parts have become very hard to find. I’ve exhausted all my resources, ereplacement parts, mystic parts, eBay,...
You would think I would know this!
