Re: Greetings from the turkey woods
I stayed out of the woods today---bad forecast and I'm tired of listening to the silence from the gobblers. Maybe when it clears up Monday------. Nobody around here is hearing any gobbling.

Re: Greetings from the turkey woods
I was out from about 3-5. Didn't hear a peep. Didn't call much but couldn't even get hoot up a shock gobble within hearing distance. :boohoo: Thunder didn't either - not that I stayed long after it started :slap:
Screw it. Let's ride.

Re: Greetings from the turkey woods
Killed a big one one day right before a storm hit. Every time it thundered I gobbled. Did that several times.
Looked over to my right and there he stood at 20 yards! Never made a sound! Last thing he heard was the
Nitro magnum load out of the 1187. Killed a lot of turkeys hunting them like deer. Scout, sit, call, fall asleep
wake up and kill!

I seen fish killed in Melbourne in the early 70's, we were snagging some monster fish out of the ICWW around Merrit Island. loved the fishing opportunity's as a kid there, fresh and salt water both...
