Nice hog! :headbang:
I may get to bag some this weekend, going up in the Mobile/Tensaw Delta, going to hunt them from the boat.
I hope I can get a couple, while a big boar would be cool for trophy tusks, some juveniles and/or small sows would be great eating.
Wish me luck.
Now that'll make some Grattons!!
Got my trap loaded, going up to Marion when I get in. In search of bacon and antlers!

[/quote]I'm going to be trying out my Saiga 7.62x39 with 125gr PSP, that should knock their butt into the mud. :spank:
I've never hunted with it, but I can ring 12" steel at 200yards all day long, so I should be good to go.
We'll be somewhere up the Tensaw R.
My buddy Joe won't tell us where exactly he is taking us, just that his brother has been nailing them hard and he wants some too.
LOL... Like getting taken to a sweet, honey hole fishing spot and being sworn to secrecy. :D
I no about the sworn to secertly thang, hope you guys can get on em they need killen off theres way to many of them , best of luck to yall
Well, not much luck was had yesterday, but not for a lack of trying.
The three of us stalk hunted all over Gravine & 12 Mile islands, saw more fresh hog sign than I ever seen before.
We saw and my buddy Joe got a shot on one lone sow, she lost us in a particularly bad section of swamp.
Planning on going back to a couple of spots on Gravine, setting up a ground blind and utilizing both Grunt & Piglet calls.
The day was not a wash, much good time with friends and that is never a bad thing.
Cruising on the river, yours truly in the stern.

NVM... I looked it up, that kind of sucks.
Time to make really good friends with someone with a lot of land and a hog problem.

yeah it sucks but it's getting pretty bad. hunting wasn't working and was actually contributing to the problem. hogs were turning up hundreds of miles from the nearest hog populations. if i had only won that lottery, i have my eye on 3100+ acres that we hunt on. hog sign has just started showing up the last few years but we haven't actually seen any hogs.
Yep, hog hunters sure can add to the problem. A few years ago here in Clarke County, a bunch of scofflaws were turning hogs loose left and right---and sometimes overhead, it seemed like. You couldn't walk 100 yards through the woods without stepping on a hog t#rd. One of my buddies killed a big sow with a tag still in her ear. That gang got broken up and our hog problems went way down---there are still hogs around, but nowhere near like they were. If every one of them died, it'd make me happy.
