Mitchell 402 rebuild
I just got through with a rebuild on a 402 I bought on E-bay. I used the Mitchell How To Thread by Tofer as a guide. The reel was in good condition
but the drag was awful. It would lock up completely at times. I added the crosswind cam, manual pickup, and the HT-100 drag washers.
I now have what feels like a brand new Mitchell 402. The spool moves completely different and that stiff bale is gone and the most impressive thing is
the drag is so smooth. I can't wait to try it out. Thanks to Tofer for that how to thread with such clear instructions and pictures and to everyone
else that made posts on the old Mitchells. I read them all.LOL
