Leader Storage Idea
I figure most all the regulars have their own storage plan for king and spanish leaders. But I thought I would share a plan that I stumbled on that works really well. I bought a six foot stick of 3/4 copper pipe insulation at a hardware store for about $1.50. I thought it would work to cover up a sabiki rig for storage while traveling back and forth to the hotel. It didn't, but I noticed that it was exactly the right size to fit in my tacklebox tray. Anyway, cut a piece, stick in five or six leaders, and it keeps them in place and tangle free.

Re: Leader Storage Idea
cool idea rich. I saw a old guy out on the pier during the spring that had a 18" piece of one of the BIG noodles cut and had about 20 pieces of 1/4" pvc glued around the outside and just slid his leaders down in the pvc tubes. But DONT ask him about it . I mentioned to him that i liked it and he promptly "AND RUDELY" informed me to not go copying it cuz he had a patent applied for on the design.

copy all you want. as long as you are not making money off it, his patent is worthless.

He doesn't have much of an invention either. At least not one that is marketable at a decent profit margin. It isn't even a unique or maybe even an original idea. I saw something similar to what you're describing on the old Navarre pier (the one that was destroyed by Ivan back in 2004).

Re: Leader Storage Idea
I have a piece of plastic board from a sign company that I put my leaders in, it's like a piece of cardboard but plastic, glued it on the side of my cooler and it works perfect. Kept all the Leader straight too. It's the same board they print real estate signs on.

Re: Leader Storage Idea
That was Dennis and I can't imagine him really meaning that ! I fished with him a lot this spring and he was more that willing to help me out and even shared a couple of King rigs . Could have had something to do with my wife bringing him cookies , but coin the phrase ," just saying "

Sorry Eddy, I have seen it, but I don't have a picture of it. I'll get one next time I see Dennis on the pier.

Re: Leader Storage Idea
I got Dennis to let me photograph his soon to be patented leader storage unit.
I will be taking up a collection to recoup the fee I had to pay him for the pic.

Jacob has a totally different approach to leader storage. This pic was free.
