what is the best king rod blank?

This is one of those off season questions that is followed by a 12 page derailment. Somebody remind me to get back to it in December.

That's DRH's way of saying it has been discussed mucho plenty. Start with the search function and spend about an hour reading the posts. Which is better? Chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry?

You will then realize that the true answer is, "It depends." There are blanks that are better than others for king fishing (or any fish for that matter), but it really comes down to personal preference. And that means going to a store (J&M for example) that carries a selection. Shake em, bend em, wiggle em and hang your reel on em. Then pick the one you like best that is in your price range. Orrrrr.....Go custom if you have the $$$
