Check out The Rod Room http://www.therodroom.com/ for any materials you'll need. Also if John G chimes in on this thread take his advice to the bank, he knows a thing or eight about fish killing sticks.

Re: king rod blank????
What are you looking for? Are you looking for a snobbling rod or a live bait rod? 8ft or 9ft? Glass or graphite? I will be glad to help you out a bit with any information you need.

Re: king rod blank????
Personally a live bait rod is going to have a slower action to keep from tearing the hook out of the bait, where as a snobbling rod is usually going to be a faster action. As far as the pro's and con's of glass and graphite, we could go on and on but a friend once told me a few words to keep in mind when dealing with graphite. His words were "graphite is for 5 years, glass is for life" So take that into consideration when selecting your blank.

Not to mention graphite can get a little weird in those summer thunderstorms.

Re: king rod blank????
Here's some #'s to get you started based on a full length blank. With butt cap installed, the bottom of the reel seat(up-locking)should be 14 to 15" up the blank. The ring of the stripper guide should be 28 to 30" from the center of the reel seat. These measurements are with the tip installed to the center of the ring:7",15 1/2"25 1/2'',37'',50 1/2". Others will have different opinions on guide spacing and the distance the stripper should be up the blank, but this will get you started..........
