Re: best rod blank
What length? Reel? And line type/size?
Give a googan a king, and he can eat for a day. But teach a googan how to kingfish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years

Re: best rod blank
There's no such thing as a great blank for both. For kings you need a light tip for casting baits without flinging them off and for cobia you need a much heavier action for driving a 9/0 hook and lots of power to control the fish at the gaff.

+1, the best multi purpose blank I've come across is the SWB 80M, but it has many negatives for bothI figure it this way, if everyone in the world had a lie clock, whose hands moved once every time they lied. You could use any politicians lie clock as a ceiling fan.

Apparently you have never hooked a decent sized ling from the pier. That rod doesn't have enough ass to stop one from swimming between the pilings.

like I said, negatives to both of them, alittle stiff for king baits, but not stiff enough for a ling over bout 20lbI figure it this way, if everyone in the world had a lie clock, whose hands moved once every time they lied. You could use any politicians lie clock as a ceiling fan.
