YouTube Channel
I think it would be great for some of the knowledgeable fishermen on this site to host a YouTube channel specializing in pier and surf fishing OB and GS. I've seen some YouTube videos of people fishing, but none showing how to fish the various seasons and different times of the year. Videos could show fishing, rod and reel setups, tackle, bait, line and leaders. I see all of the questions on this site and I think videos where you can see as well as listen to the experts would be very educational. Also, this would be a great way for those of us who are not locals to sort of stay in touch with what is going on.
It seems to me that it would also be an opportunity for some of the local businesses to advertise on the channel as well.
What do you think?

I could do several videos showing how to make stupid mistakes on the pier. Plus dumb excuses afterward.

i could do about a video per day for a year about how i didn't get to the pier to fish. that would be about 360 videos. (with pretty boring content i might add. mostly stuff like "a mushroom walks into a bar" jokes).

FWIW one my favorites even though the audio stinks (low volume and high wind noise)...

A little better quality was the series we did with John E. Phillips in 2012 as part of his Kindle ebook "Alabama's Inshore Saltwater Fishing: A Year-Round Guide for Catching Over 15 Species of Fish."
They are mostly talk though...

That would be a great idea . Not sure how to go about it but I will be thinking.
PS: There use to be a guy on the pier all the time name Pete.
Obviously not born in the the US but not sure where. I never see the gut any more.
He was a lot of help if you ever got to know him. He also was prety rude if you didn't. LOL

Don't know about everyone else but one of the things that's the most intimidating for me is the number of and types of rigs for different species

Pier#r, there was a sportsman show on TV years ago, and the host's name was Archie Phillips. Really great program. Would you know if John E. Phillips is any relation?
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
