Thread: Y'all must be catching fish

This place has been to quiet. I think the big bite has started and yall are hoarding the info I am like a sponge that has been left on the windowsill to long. Just withering away.

If I thought I could catch a fish I might drive down for the day on Thursday.

I'd let it warm back up.

I walked on the pier yesterday afternoon and there was nothing happening. There were sheepshead and pompano on the board, I guess from the morning, but there had not been enough of them to keep folks on the pier. I did see one man cleaning some croakers and a whiting or two.

Personally, I've got a lot of work to do for the next week or so, but I plan to start fishing later next week. It's getting close.

The water was dirty for a long while. It's only recently started to clear up. Only the first few spanish have started showing up. Not a dependable bite at all. Sheepshead are starting to show up. Pompano schools have come through, so there's an occasional bite - it just doesn't last too long.

So yeah -- you can catch a fish. Several species will be picking up soon. You might just time it right!

Considering how the weather has been, the reports are exactly what I'd expect them to be----not much happening. No matter how many reels I grease or how much new line I put on them, Spring and the bite will get here when the time is right. No matter how hard I wish, I can't speed it up---just like the cowboy pony I wanted for Christmas, wishing didn't get that for me either.

preciate the replies. i ended up getting all the yard work done. fished for bass mid day.
