Wolf bay under 59 bridge
Has anyone fished in wolf bay under or around 59 bridge, cause we will be staying in southport campground that is right there and was wondering whether to fish there some as well while we are down. And what type of fish should I try to target around there if I do fish there.

Re: Wolf bay under 59 bridge
Intracoastal Canal can be good at times, same goes for Wolf Bay. It wouldn't be my first choice as far as places to fish. If you have a boat, you can access quite a few spots from the canal. I haven't heard any reports from there this year but last year the convicts were stacked up thick in the canal. Early morning Speck fishing isn't a bad option either. If you fish there, be cautious of your surroundings. The boat traffic get pretty heavy in there at times.

Right about the sheepshead. I heard earlier in the year that some folks were slaying them right in behind the bridge fenders. That was a month ago, haven't heard any updates.

There was a time, CB, we fished under the bridge across from the campgrounds, at the boat launch. Did well on the flounder with bull minnows; and specs at night with crappie jigs, fishing them about a foot deep.

specs on crappie jigs believe I'll give that a shot over there. Has anyone tried using the green lights you put in the water. I have several of them for night fishing up here and if they might help for night fishing down there might go ahead and pack them in the camper.

Re: Wolf bay under 59 bridge
The floating lights are worth considering, but more especially later in the season, IMHO. Watch the Intracoastal Waterway for current and the presence of bait fish. The current in the canal is directly related to the tides movement. Some specie, like flounder, prefer the edge of the canal, where the current is slack, and the bottom is flat. Specs tend like steady current, in my experience. And none of these things are true all the time, just like it is where you fish at home. Hope this helps. And by the way, y'all will have a great time, no matter what.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
