Windy Conditions?
If the wind kicks up to 10-15 mph out of the North or West, like is predicted, this Friday thru Sunday, how's that going to affect the bite?

A west wind is likely to make the water cloudy and rough and will make it a little more difficult for fish to see a lure. However I've fished west winds and dirty water and on occasion done well. Out of the north has been good for me since the seas are generally more flat and water clear.

So, if it's a west wind, it'll probably be live bait or fresh dead time. Thx,

The NWS is calling for north to NE winds through the weekend, maybe some SE later today. East on Monday with 4-7 foot seas. East wind is good. 5 foot waves aren't. But if you can keep a bait in the water before it gets muddy, it can be glorious. The wind is your friend for mackerel. But it can be too friendly. Good luck! Post pictures. If somebody throws over your line, it might be me.

I've had some really good days using a small egg sinker to keep my live bait/cigar minnow underneath the water's surface in the wind. When everyone else's bait is skipping across the top, kings sometimes chow down on the bait that stays below the surface and I'll be the only one getting bit! In windy conditions, kings seem to pay the small egg sinker no mind. Wind speed of around 12-15 is usually very manageable. Gusts above 20 can be really difficult. I'm really not fond, at all, of fishing in a howling wind!

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
