white trout
Is there a size limit on white trout, are they good to eat? Are they like specks, just white?

Re: white trout
no size requirement, no limit, GOOD to eat. They don't frezze well, and they must be iced down as soon a possible after catching, they will turn soft and musshee eaiser than a spec or most any other fish.

Re: white trout
IF you get into them (white trout) at night (under a dock light) be observant of each one you put in the box.
At 12 inches or so long, in poor light conditions an undersized speckled trout is easily mistaken for a white trout (by my son one night) :-[ :spank:
I think they freeze OK (about like specks) IF you trim ALL the 'redmeat' off the filet and bread them before freezing.
But like any fish, they are best when cooked fresh ;-)
(RETIRED) mostly.

Re: white trout
Thanks guys, I usually get into them pretty good at night when I'm down there and didn't really know for sure on limits and so forth. Still loving this forum for info and making new friends.

There's nothing better than WT salt&peppered, dusted in flower then pan fried in a little butter served with a couple over easy eggs with cheese grits.Trust me,do it once and the family will be begging for it again.

Re: white trout
I fillet them and then vaccuum pack them, they seem to freeze well that way.
Just dont keep them in the freezer too long.
