Where to fish from a kayak in September
We are coming down to Gulf Shores the second week of September where/what should we target? What bait/lures would you suggest? I've been to Gulf Shores once before and fished the surf...(it was really rough and we didn't catch anything to speak of) Any help would be fantastic!

Little Lagoon, Jeff Friend Kayak Launch, between GS and Fort Morgan. Gulp shrimp and 3 inch Swimming Mullet, Fish Bites, met some fellows who wore them out on crappie jigs, yep, crappie jigs. Hobie and I will be trying it next week and probably the same week as you in Sept. I was so impressed with Fish Bites I ordered some on the internet, they are making curly tail grub type baits now and I didn't' see those anywhere in the stores down there, just the ribbon bait. I will also be trying some new baits I found in Florida in January.

Thanks Hobiken!
I'll have to get some ordered! I haven't used them before. We were looking at Little lagoon too so that is perfect!
I'll be watching for some pictures of next weeks trip! Tight lines!

Weathers not looking good, I've already canceled twice. Don't think I can stand it any longer, guess I'll just have to tough it out. Anyway, haven't fished the springtime so I'm anxious, we always come down in sept-oct. I researched several places, but LL worked out well for me, the first couple of days I put in at the inlet, Bon Secour is a lot handier even with the extra miles. I'm hoping to get to try some other locations, but with limited time, I'll stick with what's working for now.

True, very true... I have only surf fished up to this point... Good luck and stay safe in the bad weather. It can get nasty down there.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
