Might-bes include redfish, flounder, whiting, black drum, hardhead catfish, pompano and spanish mackerel. If I'm fishing in the surf at that time, it's with fresh-dead peeled shrimp (pomps, whiting, black drum, redfish). If the spanish are close-in, I'm throwing a gotcha (it'll throw a long way) or a 1/2 oz looney jig in white/white. For flounder I'm tossing a bull minnow (since pinfish in the surf will probably eat your bait before a game fish has a chance). I'd throw a looney jig for pomps in orange or raspberry, tipped with a fresh-dead piece (small piece) of shrimp.
If the only thing biting is hardhead catfish, I'm headed for the house!

Add to that list:
Ladyfish ("skipjack") and Blue Runner ("hardtail") on lures and live bait,
Speckled trout on lures and live bait (shrimp),
and Bluefish.
Where in tarnation have the bluefish been this year?
Maybe even a few spadefish and remora on dead shrimp by then too.(RETIRED) mostly.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
