whats it looking like for the weekend?
Finally getting a chance to get in on the action at the pier Saturday going to get there around 6 hopefully find the fresh cigs and then some kings at the pier . So what do y'all think Saturday is going to be a good day?

NWS Saturday April 4 (Full moon & NEAP tide BTW and a front comes thru Friday night)
A slight chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 70.
North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Sunday
Partly sunny, with a high near 69.
SATURDAY
NORTHEAST WINDS 18 TO 23 KNOTS. SEAS 3 TO 4 FEET. SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS.(RETIRED) mostly.

That forecast can, and likely will change between now and Sat.

The moon's going to still be full on the 4th and the full moon, late March/early April usually has the sheepshead courting and feeding around the pilings. It'll be more difficult to see them and a guy will probably need extra weight to keep the bait in place with the higher winds, but it could still turn out very well! I've experimented before with using a small egg sinker above my swivel when king fishing in robust winds. It keeps the bait down under the surface instead of skiing at the top and the kings seem to pay no attention at all to the sliding egg sinker.

That wind picks up any more....
You can just fly the Cig like a kite and see if a King skies on it.

Oh wow I never fished for kings but I was gonna get some cigs from j and m any idea on a egg sinker weight in the rough seas and swivel size?

And how do u rig cigs just on a circle hook treble hook or one of those rigs with two or three treble hooks I have a makin leader and a 4x 4# treble and some gotchas and x raps and a few looney jigs
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
