I'm going to be fishing on the pier and surf fishing Memorial day weekend....... I need someone to give me a rundown on what they are biting on, gear I will need, what I can catch, and where are they at on the pier:confused:. I would like to catch reds, speckled trout, flounder, pompano, smaller species.

Do a quick search, all your questions have been answered.
That said, all you need for those species is 6-7' medium spinning gear with 8-10# mono, Live and fresh dead shrimp.
When you get down here, you can go into any bait shop and pick up a couple of Gotcha-Plugs, 1/2 oz silver spoons, and leader making material. In case you want to go for Spanish Mackerel.Quote:

Search bubble rig, but a clear plastic bobber filled with water casts a mono leader of roughly 3' a long way. At the end of the leader is threaded a 3" straw or plastic tube terminated with a treble. Clear bubble creates a surface fuss without drawing strikes while the cheap lure makes occasional cutoffs from sharptoothed Spanish affordable.
If fish are on top the bubble is best but if deep then dredging with the gotcha is best. Best speed is often buzzbait speed or faster.

What is working best for flounder and trout? almost everyone swears on a white fluke or white tube for flounder. where at on the pier are the flounder and trout?

I've had one but it got smashed. line is weak also. good with 30-35 lbs braid.
