Maybe spanish mackerel.
That reel is going to have 'issues' very quickly if you mackerel fish with it.
It's not designed to handle the high speed runs and hard pulls of mackerel fishing.
You could put 480# braid on it and it'll still rip the guts out of that reel...

It is a very stiff rod, My best friend and I where surf fishing in orange beach. Fishing with double hooked pompano rigs with dead pompano that washed up. threw it out just in front of the sand bar. 30 minutes later the rod bent down pretty hard. We forgot to set the drag......
. He was hooked in to something big. I was trying to tighten the line because the line was rolling out. then, Finally I managed to set the drag............ Too tight.
. The line gave way. Any Idea what it was? It pulled and then every now and then it took off fast. shark?
I tested the line after and it was like elastic. My little brother did catch a 30+ pound turtle out of Shelby lake on the same outfit. for 10 minutes he thought he was hung up! he was 7 at the time.Last edited by Bassmaster179; 04-24-2017 at 03:25 PM.
