Have always wondered about this and just found this article which I found informative and thought I would share it with the forum.
What are rod ratings and what do they mean?Dance naked my friends, life is short.

And rod blank manufacturers can vary on their specifications/ratings. I've noticed MHX extra fast action blanks are really fast action. They're not tippy like they claim
