What is the difference in these Power Pro braids

    https://www.amazon.com/PowerPro-3110...pro&th=1&psc=1

    and

Has any one ever used the one in the grey box? Most people use the one in the green box. The gray box one comes in the color/wt I want (hi vis yellow/15#), the green box one doesn't

I was told (by my Bass Pro lead) the Super Slick ("grey box") has more coating than the regular PP ("green box").

But those grey box are 150 yards and the green box is 300 yards!

H'mm, didn't catch that one. 150yds may not even fill up the spool of my reel. The do offer it in a 300yd box but not in 15#, only 20 and up. It's $39 for a 300yd box. Not sure the yellow is that important.

The slicker grey box version also challenges your knot skills.

I'm using the 15lb Super Slick 8 in blue and it casts a country mile and let's you surf the Spanish in to keep them from the sharks.

I lost my first two kings when I used braid for the first time because I tied my old trilene knot that has worked for years with mono. Use a Uni Knot with at least 10 wraps and leave about an 1/8 inch tag end and it will not slip.

That's good to know because I use the Trilene knot quite a bit. I saw a modified version of the Uni where the line is doubled before passing through the swivel eye

The weaving process is different , makes it more slick , not near the noise casting , really strong . I use the 15 and 20 lbs , both offered in 300 yes spools , I buy the 1500 yes spools for my vs and vr 150's , they will hold 550 yards of 20lbs

I should have mentioned that as well. I do not double the line but I pass the tag end of the braid through the eye of the swivel twice then pull out 10 inches or so and tie the uni knot. It will hold.

I use a palomar knot without issues on braid to barrel swivels and bare hooks on those rare occaisions. No slippage or issues.
