Water temperature hit 65, first king soon!?!?

With the water temperature hitting the magic number of 65 today, and the weather only getting hotter for the rest of the week, the first king cant be to far around the corner... right??? If I were in the first king competition I would be very happy with march 23 right now.

Such is problematic when trying to assign an arbitrary dynamic number (such as water temperature).
Just because the water temperature spiked up to 65 degrees at 42012 doesn't mean a thing really.
In fact it's already dropped back down several degrees...

And after this end-of-the-week-warm-up (to about average for the date) the (air) temps will again fall below average next week :-(
The climatic trend for the whole winter has been below average temperatures.
As long as that trend continues fish migrations and such will be 'behind' schedule.
