Water temp
I am planning a trip to Gulf Shores this Spring. What water temp is good at the State Pier that would indicate that good fishing has returned? I am new to Saltwater Pier fishing.

personally, I would say 62.5 deg F

Last year the first kings came at about 68 degrees.That was at the 42012 bouy.

What is the water temperature right now? I did some looking on the web and it said Pensacola was about 62F. I am surprised it is that warm already. I could not find temps for Gulf Shores.
I hope to be down on 3/8/14. At what temp do the Sheepshead start stacking on the pier? Any chance they will be around in numbers in a couple of weeks?

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
