Water Conditions?
Has anyone got a report on what the water conditions are like today? How muddy? How rough?

Re: Water Conditions?
I'm no good for an 'onsite' but have been monitoring the wave drop from the 42012 bouy...
http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=42012
About 4' now, down from 7' this am, and 14' yesterday
http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/show_plot.p...time_label=CDT
The beach cams give a decent idea idea of how rough and dingy the waters still are...

Looking ahead the marine forecast is very favorable with only light to moderate winds and seas falling to 1-2 feet over the weekend! :headbang:
The tide is going into a NEAP cycle through Monday so not sure how fast it will clear,
but almost for sure it should start looking 'good' again by middle of next week.
:fishing:(RETIRED) mostly.

Re: Water Conditions?
Buoy 42012 says 2.6 foot waves, 83 degree water temp, south wind blowing softly.....
I'm thinking fish will be dying again very soon.

Re: Water Conditions?
Yeah, I hope ;-)
A look at the Sea-N-Suds cam revealed the water has returned to 'green'.(RETIRED) mostly.

Yeah, the hurricane screwed up our Labor Day. Business is slow.

Re: Water Conditions?
Maybe this visible sat pic (from Sat Sept 1) will give a perspective of why the water isn't clearing very quickly.
Suspended sediments are noticably discoloring the waters well out into the Gulf from Chandeluer Island to Cape San Blas all along the coast.

Re: Water Conditions?
Thanks, Dave---that's an informative shot and takes some of the guesswork out of what's happening.
