want to catch big fish at night

Would someone tell me how to fish at night from the pier.i want to catch some big ones.i watch people catch little stuff.whats the technic?id be grateful.

10-20# main line, 1oz egg sinker, bead, small barrel swivel, 20-40# fluorocarbon leader attached to a 10/0 circle hook and baited with an anal hooked live Croaker or Pinfish... Hope and pray that a fat Bull Red thinks it looks too tasty to pass by.

or you could go for specs some of them get big like 8 pounds big but not all of em use live shrimp but i havnt done much spec fishin.... ask pier#r i understand hes the master ;)

Specks lately have been unable to resist a properly worked yozuri shrimp lure of the brown complexion.

That is all i will say on that subject.

Meanwhile, your evening energies are best spent catching fish for pan frying (white trout, spadefish, pigfish, moonfish, lookdowns, etc), although occasional redfish and black drum will make an appearance. Chile's advice is spot on. You might also catch a stingray, shark or crevalle jack with that setup as well.

they bite the yo-zuri at nite too?

Especially at night.

Fish can see through darkness better than you could imagine--benefit of having large open eyes.

Add to that they can sense and detect movement from the lateral line, and you have some evening killing machines.

thats kool im aware of the lateral lines and them being able to see in the dark pretty good but i geuss i didnt put 2 and 2 togather lol
