Ah hell, leave it in... People pay lots'a money for piercings.

    My most embarrassing memory?
It involved alcohol and horniness... And there was this... Female.
Excuse me while I suppress the involuntary shudder and try to shove that back into the repressed memories bin where it belongs.

My ordeal was a horrible experience that still haunts my dreams...I was incredibly blessed to grow up on the shores of Lake Hartwell in NE Georgia - and fished and/or hunted every day of my youth. One warm spring day after school, I raced from the house to attack a large school of hybrids that were busting bait just off our dock. I snatched a rod and a black and white Devil Horse top water plug and headed down the steps. My "old" shoes were covered with red clay from a previous lake adventure and had been left outside at the ready for just such a quick adventure. I grabbed the shoes on a dead run and headed for the lake. Not 3 steps into my journey, a very large scorpion was roused from slumber in my shoes and promptly showed his aggravation with a very painful sting to my right forearm.
In my haste to remove the vile creature from my body, I dropped the triple treble hooked Devil Horse and slapped the scorpion off my arm. A few quick revengeful stomps later, the event was over - but not quite. As the top water plug fell from my hand - it snagged my shorts. One hook on each side of my inseam - and the middle hook was imbedded snugly in my crotch!
The fire in my arm was unbearable and my screams quickly brought my wonderful loving mother running out of the house to see what was hurting her baby. My brother, a fan of paper back westerns came down with my mom. Her reassurance was calming, but my brother continued to assert that scorpion stings usually result in death within a few hours..especially with kids!
With the hooks located where they were - I could not move. My mom retreated to the house to bring something to get the hooks out and returned with the biggest butcher knife we owned! Her mother's nerves were shot by the experience and she was shaking awful bad and I quickly became more afraid of the location of the huge blade than any concern for emminant death from the scorpion sting! After cutting the hooks from both sides - I loudly insisted that I would take care of the last one! I gingerly bow-legged my way back in the house and was CAREFULLY removing the hook from my privates as my mom called my aunt - a nurse at the local hospital. Remember this was pre-911 times and we lived WAYYYYY out in the country. As my mom tearfully relayed the brevity of the situation to my dear aunt...I caught the sounds of her raucous laughter on the other end of the call. It seems that the scorpions that inhabit the woods of Georgia are certainly not deadly - just painful.
To this day, I fear treble hooks.
