Typical Charter Times
Curious as to what the typical charter times are for half day in shore trips. Can anyone provide rough estimates? Assuming 4 hour charter, is it something where you are shoving off at 7am sharp for a morning charter and 1pm for an afternoon? Trying to determine best time to book for my 10 year old nephew (not necessarily a morning person). If the afternoon fishing is no good, then that helps make the decision, but if it's ok in the afternoon (mid June) that may be a better option for him.

I am no expert about how all the charters operate; if you try Gulfshores/Orangebeach Charters in Google, you will find a lot about what you need to know. And, there are plenty of folks who know more than me about this, but it is a good place to start.

Mforbesiii,
Sounds like you may be looking at a party boat aka headboat. From my experience on these boats it makes no difference, morning or afternoon. Fishing will be good either time. Just take cold drinks and plenty of sunscreen. I'm sure you'll have a blast.
good fishing...

Thanks guys! I actually booked a half day trip with Joe Garris out of Fort Morgan for me and some relatives. He called me last night and we had a good chat about what we were looking to do and it sounds like he's all set up for that. I told him our primary objective was to put a bit of food on the table for one night and then just have fun the rest of the time. As always, appreciate the advice.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
