Two Piece Spinning Rod Suggestions
I drive from Guntersville to the Gulf and fish pier once or twice a year. I usually just bring some of my bass spinning gear.
I’m looking for a quality 2-piece spinning rod that won’t break the bank with just a little more backbone than my bass rods. Would flip docks with it at the lake when I’m not at the pier. Any suggedtions? Been looking on Internet and just haven’t found much.

What size reel are you looking to put on it?

What ever you get make sure it has a longer grip....16in from butt to the center of reel seat....better leverage for fighting fish......other then that it is personal preference

Bass Pro has some viable options for 2 piece.
I'd suggest the 7' medium heavy Tourney Special (under $50).
You can add 2 year Gear Guard protection for $9.99 more ;-)

It is rated for 6# to 17#
Or if you want more length, Browning has an 8'6" 2 piece with the same line rating...

BTW, I've been using a 6'6" BPS Tourney Special (2-piece) as my jigging rod for spanish for several years now.
I use 6# mono and I can flip 2# mackerel over the rail with it!Last edited by Pier#r; 05-28-2018 at 02:36 PM.

Thanks guys.
I have a 2500 Spirex I’m going to put on it.
I know that’s a little bass-ish. Think I’m going to put braid on first and then some mono.

I have the same BPS tourney series that @Pier#er does, as well as a couple of these w/ some 2500 Battle II's on them....

A 4000 series reel is a good all around size

I bump that up to a 6000 series, I use a 706 -9ft rod slinging live bait, on a trolley little smaller bailed reel & a favorite 7ft rod....just not kings , but other fish will be caught too ....drag and line capacity is key, so they wear themselves out.....use to let them run, but with the sharks that sometimes isn't an option
J&M has a great king custom 8ft shelf rod at a real good priceBill..............

I like Penn Battle II 4000 reels and Penn Battalion rods.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
