Trip Planning?
Trying to plan some 3-4 day trips. March -June. I'm a diehard moon phase hunter. Grandaddy did everything by moon and taught me to do the same. I know there's no science behind it, but what's yalls thoughts? How do you that travel plan trips? Lots of factors for good days.
Gulf Coast Fishing magazine fish calendar has done me OK in past. I have apps also that have mixed days. All in all I have to plan ahead with vacation days. Was planning a trip last week of March to hit new moon.
I read way more than I post. Great advice here. Fish PC, but this year will be on Gulf Shores more. Any and all advice on this is appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Since moon phases affect tidal movement I would say that there is some science involved. My problem is that I'm neither wealthy or good looking so I must fish and hunt when I can, not when conditions are ideal.

JK, I don't follow any of that stuff. Basically, with salt water, too many variables. Tide, current, water temp, moon phases, wave action, wind, salinity, etc, etc. I've also been told poor fishing during neap tides, but have had some great success during neap tides.
So all the planning in the world never helps me. Y'all just gotta have a line in the water to be successful!

May be something to it I don't know All I know is I've never paid any attention to any of that in over 50 years of fishing both when I was working and traveling to fish and now when I can fish most any day that I want Caught my share too I'm a planner and I learned early on you can plan too much The more you plan the more possibilities for disappointment Go for comfort and convenience and limit your stressors particularly if you have time during the year for multiple trips and you'll fine you'll enjoy it more and live longer

I'm like the others in that I go when I can, which, fortunately, is pretty often since I retired. Doesn't hurt that I live in Orange Beach, either. Anyhow, I seem to have less luck on the days of the full moon---no evidence to back it up, but it seems that way. Just come on down and fish with us. And bring donuts??

Thanks y'all. Looking forward to coming down. See y'all soon.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
