Top Water Fishing in the surf...
Good morning!
Coming down for Spring Break. I do a lot of baitcasting in the surf. You know, wade out, cast, wade back, wait, repeat. Hope for something between steps 3 & 5! I would like to try some cast and receive of top water plastics just past the surf.
Have or do any of you try this? If so, any good lures that work? Thanks!
Casey

I haven't used top water but you can throw a bubble rig or a spoon from the surf and catch blue fish and ladyfish if they are in the area, also an occasional Spanish .

Re: Top Water Fishing in the surf...
Thanks! I have been reading about poppers and some minus 1s. Is there a favored bait shop that I can support by buying from there? I want to be a good visitor!

This is my ole buddy Blake. He works @ J&M and can help you fulfill your dream too using Skitterwalks, Top Dawgs, Yozurri Crystal minnow, etc. ;-)

Re: Top Water Fishing in the surf...
It is! :yippee:
In fact I have adapted that topwater/subsurface/bottom bumping repertoire into my unique bottom fishing approach so that an angler may concentrate on "what's biting now".
No telling what will bite next ;-) :shark
And 'back bone' the top picture is indeed Ft Morgan, but the others were taken at Dauphin Island.(RETIRED) mostly.

Most golf corses you catch bass but there's one that offers some great spring time trout fishing. I,ve never done it but know a lot of people that have.
