Thanksgiving Fishing
We're camping at the park over Thanksgiving and my 10 year old is crazy about fishing. We rarely fish in the gulf (live on lake Guntersville and bass/crappie fish all the time). We fished the pier the pier this summer and had a blast. What is biting this time of year and what should we fish with?
Thanks for any tips.

Whiting and sheepshead are usually good prospects ;-)

Shouldn't the bulls still be on fire?

The bulls should make a showing.
Occasionally during the day, but typically at night in rough weather...(RETIRED) mostly.

Tidefan, your best chance to get your young ones on some fish is to hire Pier#r. For very little money, vacation expense wise, you get a few hours with one of the most knowledgeable fishermen on the gulf and a great example to your kids, too.

Plus 1 on that idea! If you can book Pier#r you should do it. There are no guarantees in fishing, but hiring David is as close to a guarantee as you can get. You will catch fish!

I'm feeling pretty good about myself.... After reading a lot about Pier#r I actually reached out last night via email and he's gonna show us the ropes. Then I get on here and see the 2 posts recommending him. I told my main man (10 year old) and he's all kind of fired up.
Thanks guys!

We met Pier#r at 6 this morning (30 degree temps, stiff wind and all). We fished a few hours and had a great time, caught several nice sheepshead and some croaker. Thanks to everyone that steered us in David's direction. We literally couldn't have gotten more out of our time.
My son and I had an absolute blast. I couldn't give a stronger endorsement for him and what he does (and how he does it).
Thanks again.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
