    Thank You

Just got home from our week long stay in Orange Beach. I just wanted to say Thank You to all of you who are so very willing to share information on this forum as well as in person. With what I've learned from you all I was able to limit out on Spanish multiple days. Although I think 80% of the pier can say that for Wednesday through Friday. I was also able to land my first King from the pier.
I was able to briefly meet a few of you. Todd, Haywire, Sunshine. I know there were others I've missed. If you guys are ever looking for information on hunting Southern Illinois please let me know. I'd love to return the favor.

Great photos, Rebels32! Can you give us more details about your fishing days?

Have you prepared any of your catch for the table, yet? If so, how?

Success was had by most who were fishing bubble rigs for Spanish. Pretty much every morning from about halfway between the bathrooms all the way to the octagon. Most were drifting frozen cigar minnows for the kings. That's what I caught mine on. Friday morning there was mixed success with cigars as well as spoons and xraps.
have not cooked any yet. Planning a fish fry with friends and will probably try some grilled as well. I'll probably search the forum for recipes. I can't wait to get back. There is something special about that pier and the folks who call it home. I never felt out of place or in the way as a beginner. Definitely use J&M as a resource. They make their money by giving solid advice not by loading you up on stuff you don't need.

I can vouch for the size of the whitetails, I drive to and from work in Southern IL (Olmsted) every day and we try dodge them but its difficult (and more times than not very damaging). We have installed heavy duty brush guards on company vehicles to try to limit the damage. We probably hit a dozen a year.
They thrive and grow on corn and beans of which there are plenty.
