Thread: Techniques to troll for kings

What's the preferred method to troll for kings? We caught some trolling with plugs but is there a better way. A mullet or Spanish with a duster maybe? Will Spanish stay alive while trolled?

Plan is to go after so AJ but if the weather don't permit we wanna troll or something. Any tips or advice is appreciated.

Always use a Sea witch with a cigar minnow. Use two hooks, front hook through the eye of the back hook and hook front hook through cigar minnows eyes and back hook into the body about the dorsal fin. Hold it down in the water to make sure it's running straight and not doing circles before letting it all the way out. Troll at a med to slow speed.

+1 on the seawitch. They also make a trolling lure that has a weighted head where most of the weight is on the bottom that will keep the cigs swimming strait. Can't remember the name but they are deadly. John g should have them. Also should have at least one #2 drone spoon in your spread on a planer. Chrome with either yellow or green metallic strip have always produced best for us
