Team members for shark fishing needed.
Somebody must have dropped out because I have just been informed that I have been selected to shark fish Tuesday night, July 10.
I am 71 years old and will not fish for 12 hours straight, but I will fish and need team members if anybody is interested. I will be happy to share the rod when fighting fish and plenty of meat if that matters.
Edit: For gear I will be using Penn Long Beach 4/0 reels with 50 lb mono on 30-80 and 50-130 rods with roller guides top to bottom. 135 lb seven strand leaders and I have not decided yet on hooks, leaning towards 12/0 to 16/0 circle hooks, but happy to hear opinions. I do believe we will be equipped for battle.
I will have a Penn 950 if I have to fish the upwind side. Does anybody know how/if they assign spots?
Butterflied Spanish for bait, hopefully fresh.People are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.
If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

I am 58 years old, retired, and live in Foley. I grew up in Florida and Dad was a commercial fisherman. I fish the pier a little and the surf. I've watched both livefeeds of the 1st two events so have an idea of what goes on. I have the time and interest if you need a person.

Shark night help
I responded to frednic and bamafan611 with my willingness to help. And yes this is a bit different. I watched both live feed and the 2nd night was action. I watched them hoist that big one over the rail. Hooking the shark, battling it to the rail is one thing, getting that baby over the rail is a real challenge. Gaff, tail rope, and like 5 guys pulling! Good communication and everyone on the Octi was so helpful. Strong sense of community. I remember so many all nighters with dad a young boy. Plus I've seen the movie Jaws! Someone let me know if you need a person.

How will they notify you if you selected,I out in the day it open ,just wondering
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
