Report:
MONDAY:Took the son of a freind (age 13), who'd been wanting to CATCH some saltwater fish. He got his wish ! After showing him how to "jig" with speckrigs, he was into small spanish, hardtails and skipjacks the rest of the morning. It was GREAT, for both of us. Not a great day, but GREAT FUN! He even got to bring home some spanish for supper.
TUESDAY: Took my nephew (age 15) who'd ONLY BEEN FISHING TWICE HIS WHOLE LIFE! Within 10 minutes of walking on the pier he caught his first spanish (Yeah, a Kodak moment ;-) Anyway, we had a ball catching (or rather trying to catch) spanish into the afternoon. The fish did their part, munching every little LY we drifted out. We ran out of livies and started cutting big LYs into strips. Bang-bang, a double header! He blew his parents away with a nine pound bag of filets!
Folks I tell you what, BOTH of these teenagers were fine young fishing partners. They just wanted someone to "show" them how to do it, and offer a little advise or encouragement. Every fish they hooked was better than catching several by myself. And I still got to catch plenty, myself. And BOTH trips together, cost less than $25. But those big smiles, they were priceless!
PLEASE, TAKE A KID FISHING!

Thats the one
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
