Tarpon Swimbait Rod
Question for the group. I am looking at the Shimano Teramar 8ft rods to use only as a swimbait rod. My issue is do I go with the XXH fast tip with a 16in butt 2-5oz or the XH extra fast with a 12in butt 3/4-3oz which seems to short of a butt but falls in the weight range of 6in swimbaits? Or if someone has a better option I am all ears.

I dont really throw big swimbaits much, but my setup is a 7'6" heavy action. The butt end is probably 14-15 inches. I'm a big fan of shorter butts on rods, but for long rods and heavy baits, I think the longer butts work better.

I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
