Survey is incomplete---
The Marine Resources people were in the parking lot again, doing their little questionnaire, and I asked them when they were going to help us out with our shark problem. The head guy said something to the effect that they had determined that the shark population increases at certain times of the year. DUH?
That's sort of like saying that you frequently find sand on the beach. Even a lawyer couldn't have said it better. Obfuscation and circumlocution at their finest. Throw in minimizing the problem and a hefty charge of indifference.
When they accosted me on the way out, I answered their questions and after telling them how many bait fish I'd thrown back and how many fish of what kind that I'd targeted, I told them there was one very important question they'd left out: "How many of the fish you hooked were eaten by sharks?" The angler in the car next to me gave me an "Amen".
