    I went to the pier about 3:30 and the gate was closed. I know that based on tide stage, temperature, wind direction, moon phase and karma that I would have limited out on specs, reds and pompano in the shallows. Maybe tomorrow.

    I'm a noob how much bigger are these waves than normal?

    Not at all, just a 'big surf day'.
    The pier was shut down @ 1pm because of the bad weather (high winds, lightning and a threat of tornadoes).
    Supposed to reopen in the morning sometime...

    Yep, a kindred spirit and myself were unloading at 1pm yesterday ready to slay them when we were turned away. Going to try again today at some point. Anyone else going?
