Wheeler Lake near home in Athens, Alabama. Gene Larew(Bobby Garland) soft plastic minnow in Bluegrass color on a 1/16oz head, 4' rod, micro spin reel, 4lb line. Vertical jigging under docks 8'-20' deep in 28' water. Let it go to the bottom and reel up 1 turn, wiggle rod tip, wait 5 seconds, repeat til your within a few feet of the surface and move down the dock about 6 feet and repeat. Some of the bites were never felt and the line never moved. The fish was just there when I reeled up one turn and some were like ladyfish hitting a gotcha plug. The key is to cover a lot of water. There are 25 in the cooler and we let another 20 or so smaller fish go. Also had a few bream, blue catfish, a little largemouth and a blue million small white bass from 6:30am to 9:30am. It had warmed up to 33 degrees when I left. Pretty sure the bite would have lasted longer but I had to be home by 10.
