star verses lever drags?
I've never used a lever drag, just star. Was wondering if their is any advantage to one over the other? Or is it just one of those things one wants because he doesn't have one. Any advice would be appreciated.

In my opinion lever drags are the way to go, more control and easier to adjust. Also not as much chance with line breaking due to the drag being set to tight.

There are different types of fishing you can use each different reels for. i like lever drags for trolling and star drags for bottom fishing. There isn't really one better than the other both of the reels are just used for different types of fishing.

Thanks, I have been reading about the two different types online. It appears it's all about preference and type of fish that's being targeted. So I will do my homework read plenty, than figure out which way to go.

That's great if you plan on just limiting your abilities to catching fish form just the pier. There's a lot of water out their. I like to keep my options open.

Holy Crap! I thought I was pushing it (and I am if you ask my wife) with bringing down three rods!

I had 2 reels get messed up my last trip ....nothing hurts to have a few extra's ....I was trying to learn how to use the manual reels this past trip....I like to have each one rigged in the pier cart for different things when a school goes by....put one in and grab one to throw....never enough time to re-rig to throw on something ....I have plenty of room, so why not....not to mention a big cooler full of gaff's and a small upright freezer too, for when the condo freezer runs out of room.
I do think I have a problem with fishing equipment....and trying out new things to use but if not able always can go with the old reliable ....some things never left the 7 gallon bucket & back pack, but they were down there..... if neededBill..............
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
