    SSG or SSV?

Looking for a 4500 size reel is the new series worth the extra $ or would a 450ssg be better for the money? Wondering if anyones had any experience with these reels, thanks

The ssg series was discontinued several years ago.
Though lighter (graphite components) the mid and larger sizes were notorious for failing in the rugged saltwater environment.

I have a feeling the SS V series will be around for a while as will the Battle series.
They are built like 'tanks' (and weigh almost a s much ;-)

I know the ssg series was discontinued but i still see them at walmart for $100. Is this just from stock from the Penn company?

What SSV model (i.e. 3500, 4500, 5500) would be a good size for wade fishing for larger spanish, specs, reds? Thanks!

What would be a good line to spool the 3500 with for the pier vs wade fishing?
