    Spring Fishing

Just a question for you guys and gals...I know water temps and weather really make the call but, on average, when does the spring fishing for trout, flounder, and such begin to pick up. The earliest i have been there is is mid to late May and have had decent success then. Just wondered when I could expect to make a trip and be able to find a few fish. I know nothing is the same every year, but just looking for an average date. Usually deer hunting is best at my house from Jan 12-25 but this year was non-existent so I understand its not always on time... Thanks for any and all input Sidenote: I have got to fish with Mr. Wire this year! He has got to be a character in person!!!

Be careful what you wish for!

The fishing has got to be better this year. Spring and summer should be good, but August to mid September get a bit warm.
    Maybe Pier#r's Chart will help:

Excellent chart Fin. I think it should be the headliner of new forum here, "What's biting when and other FAQ's".

Thanks David, but that is Pier#r's What’s Biting Chart.
It is in the Tips and Tricks thread several times in the Q&A board.

I will edit the opening post to include the chart.

Try to avoid the neap tide and the full moon. The chart on this link shows the tide and moon phase. My plan is the last week of April-first week of May and Last week of June. All great plans can come crashing down with heavy rains and cold fronts.
