Do you mean like, "Hey Babe do you like my bait?"......Sorry, just having fun with typos.
Serious now. First a spoon shouldn't spin it should flutter. Action is important and leader length can change the action of any lure. The problem is you never know in advance what action is going to be the desired the most. I generally make my leaders on the short side to make casting easier and get a bit more distance on my cast (my casting pretty much sucks, I need all the help I can get).

Re: spoons
I like my spoons to spin, I usually only buy the brands that have good swivels as part of the lure and will add a spro on the leader also. A lot of my hits come on the fall so the probly just flutter in that moment of retieval. I usually cast as far as I can and let it hit the bottom and reel it quickly until I can see lure and let if fall again, about three times a cast.

Re: spoons
if your fishing for bigger stuff like kings, cobia, or jacks, go out and get a 2oz tsunami surf spoon, use about a 10'' leader, if mono leader, tie a good uni-knot and use 80lb, if wire, just twist, when fishing for king or jack, fish it just like you would a cobia jig just faster, when fishing for reds or cobia, lust like you would a cobia jig(cast out as far as you can and pop it once while you crank once(same time) a second, when it starts to pop the surface of the water let it sink for about 5-10 seconds and repeat the same techneque, over and over again till you you get it to the pier, then cast again). if your fishing for spanish or blues get a smaller one (size and coler vary) and pop it moderatly fast behind a bubble, about a 1', 50-60lb leader (1' behind bubble). hope this helps
I figure it this way, if everyone in the world had a lie clock, whose hands moved once every time they lied. You could use any politicians lie clock as a ceiling fan.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
