What type and size spoons are good for surf or pier fishing?

I was wondering the same thing, about two weeks ago. Getting geared up for a trip to the surf in October. I used the search button on the Q&A page, and read a lot of stuff that I am itching to try. Just enter spoons, and give it a go.

I fish spoons a lot while in PC. There a lot of ways to throw them. My favorite is a 1 ounce krocodile spoon with a 18 inch 30lb 7 strand leader. Usually let it fall to the bottom and then reel fast until it gets to the surface. Then you open the bail and let it fall to the bottom again and repeat. If the wind is blowing hard in my face I will go to a 2 ounce spoon. I am usually fishing for Kings and Spanish but you can catch blues, bonita, ladyfish, etc. Good way to locate fish and great way to catch schooling fish. A good website to look for spoons is Overstockbait.com. Sometimes they have spoons for $1 each but you have to wait for the sale.

Thank You!
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
