Speck Fishing
How is that night time or early early morning bite been for specks lately!!

They have been AWOL at the pier.
The shallows are full of "June Grass" (a green filamentous algae) and the specks have vacated the area.
Some spots in the Lagoon and elsewhere inshore have been producing though.
And I've heard tales of trout under the lights in these areas too.(RETIRED) mostly.

Fished all night moving all the way to the end around the 3rd of this month at four seasons and only able to catch 2 around 16 inches free lining live shrimp with 6 pound test. The algae was every where

i caught one. really small and tried catching more but nothing else hit it. i was actually using sandfleas and i was trying for some pompano! :yippee:

i saw a few in the shallows the other day and a few people were tryn with live shrimp and small elys( i was using live shrimp) and they wouldnt feed
